Welcome to the Marche of Alderford!
The Marche of Alderford is a local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, located in Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas Counties, Ohio. We are part of the Barony of Brendoken, which in turn is part of the Middle Kingdom.
The SCA is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study and re-creation of the culture of the Middle Ages. Our meetings are free and open to the public. To learn more about Alderford and the SCA, visit one of our meetings or contact any of our officers. We hope you'll come and join us in creating the Current Middle Ages!
A year has passed and the stalemate continues. Their Excellencies, Alexander and Ragnar, having agreed to disagree, need your support once again. Stand by your Baron and help defend the resources of our glorious barony!
The Oaken Melee School 6 takes place July 8-10, 2005, at the B&A Primitive Weapons Club near Roswell, Ohio (same site as last year). For details, follow the link below to the official event web site.
These are the Minutes from Alderford's March business meeting, held March 1.
Alderford is the name of our shire in Stark, Carroll, and Tuscarawas Counties in northeastern Ohio. The local area is known for its many streams and lowlands. In central Stark County, a tributary of the Tuscarawas River, Nimishillen Creek, has its headwaters in four streams. The name for this creek comes from the language of the original natives of this region. Nimishilla is the name of a shrub that the first European settlers called black alder.
